About The Author

Me Jean-René Paquette is the founding attorney and president of Paquette Attorneys in Kirkland, in the West Island. A bilingual corporate lawyer in Montréal, he focuses his practice on commercial mergers and acquisitions, labour and employment, distribution and complex contracts, advising entrepreneurs, SMEs and investors across a range of industries. Called to the Québec Bar in 2003, he brings more than 20 years of experience in structuring and securing transactions that support clients’ long-term growth.

Known for his pragmatic, results-oriented approach, Me Paquette regularly acts as lead counsel in corporate deals, including mergers, acquisitions, business transfers and financing transactions, from early negotiation through closing. He has led high-value mandates in sectors such as aerospace, transportation, real estate and construction, and is frequently invited to speak on topics like letters of intent, trusts and doing business in Canada. An engaged member of the West Island business community, he serves on several boards and executive committees and is committed to providing practical, proactive legal solutions that help clients prevent problems rather than simply react to them.
