Those same qualities now shine in her new political role.<\/p>\n Following her heartfelt message thanking citizens for their trust and expressing her eagerness to discuss their concerns, we asked Vanessa a few questions about this exciting new chapter.<\/p>\n Thank you! I am deeply honored and moved by this show of confidence. Even though only two of us from Inspire Vaudreuil-Dorion were elected, I am committed to upholding our party\u2019s values at the council. Knowing that the people of my district chose me to represent them motivates me even more to work hard for them.<\/p>\n During my door-to-door campaign, I had wonderful conversations with many residents about the issues in our neighbourhood. Some had particular concerns, while others were more general. My goal is simple: to ensure that citizens know who represents them and how to make their voices heard. To achieve this, I want to organize district meetings\u2014gatherings where everyone can speak freely and where we can work together to find solutions to the issues raised. I truly want to be their voice at the council.<\/p>\n Municipal law has always fascinated me. I even completed my legal technician internship within the clerk\u2019s office and legal affairs department of the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion, my hometown. I\u2019ve lived in the same neighbourhood my entire life, and since municipal politics is all about proximity, I\u2019ve always believed it\u2019s important to get involved to improve both my daily life and that of my neighbours.<\/p>\n My experience has given me a strong ability to understand laws and regulations, which is a significant part of the work at the municipal council. As a paralegal in corporate law, I spend my days reading and analyzing documents\u2014just as a councillor must do to prepare for meetings. Before that, I worked for 12 years in customer service at a grocery store. That experience taught me how to listen, understand, and respond to people\u2019s needs\u2014a valuable skill for this role.<\/p>\n I wear many hats: mother, partner, paralegal, and now municipal councillor. I believe this combination is my strength. I hope to inspire my colleagues to push their limits and fully commit to their roles. I also hope that the intensity and rigor I bring to all my responsibilities\u2014whether family-related or political\u2014will reflect in my daily work.<\/p>\n The campaign was intense, and there isn\u2019t much time to rest before getting to work. Several projects are already underway at the City, and some were delayed due to the elections. The coming weeks will be busy. Once things settle down, I\u2019ll implement my strategies to connect with the citizens of District 7 and ensure they receive all the necessary information from the City.<\/p>\n Anything is possible when you put your heart, effort, and organization into it. Yes, some victories require sacrifices, but you have to be ready to make choices and stand by them. If someone had told me last summer that I would be a councillor this fall, I wouldn\u2019t have believed it! I had just returned from maternity leave, my children are young\u2026 I thought I lacked time and energy. Then, the leader of Inspire Vaudreuil-Dorion approached me. After a long discussion, I decided to seize the opportunity. And I don\u2019t regret it!<\/p>\n Vanessa Leduc is a valuable member of the Paquette Attorneys team since 2018. She is currently holding the position of Director of the Paralegal Department, where she oversees and supports the team with leadership and professionalism.<\/p>\n As a paralegal, she provides key support to our commercial lawyers<\/a>, particularly through the meticulous preparation of legal documentation for the incorporation and organization of various legal entities (business corporations, non-profit organizations, trusts, etc.), as well as for a wide range of corporate transactions, including tax rollovers, share purchases, mergers<\/a>, financing, and corporate reorganizations. She also handles the drafting of correspondence, the preparation and filing of court procedures, and the assembly of exhibit, authority, and closing binders.<\/p>\n Vanessa is also responsible for conducting due diligence and maintaining corporate minute books, ensuring that annual reports are filed in a timely manner with the Registraire des entreprises du Qu\u00e9bec and Corporations Canada.
